Take a fascinating journey with Hilda through Eastern European Jewish history as it unfolds through the world of Yiddish Song. Previous participants have called the Yiddish workshop experience 'enriching', 'uplifting', 'heartwarming', 'confidence building' 'therapeutic' and 'a chance to build my skills in a supportive environment'. Those who attend these workshops need no singing experience whatsoever, do not need to read music or speak Yiddish. Most people simply enjoy the experience of singing Yiddish songs in such a friendly gathering. However, there are some who did not originally consider themselves singers at all, but have gone on to become members of choirs, to pass singing exams, and to become performing soloists in their own right.

Hilda Bronstein is a qualified singing teacher with Diplomas from the Royal College and Royal Academy of Music with wide experience in adult education. She was director of the JMI Jewish Song School from 2005-2008. She has given masterclasses and workshops in Amsterdam, London and Cambridge and at the JMI's annual music festival Klezfest, and in May 2008 was awarded the Mira Rafalowicz Prize for Best Yiddish Song Interpretation at the prestigious International Jewish Music Festival in The Netherlands.
